Sime Darby Plantation
is the world's largest producer of sustainable palm oil, with 97% of its production
certified sustainable, and is one of the world’s largest listed palm
oil companies, producing approximately 2.8 million tonnes or 5% of the world’s crude
palm oil (CPO) output annually.
Sime Darby Plantation is a fully integrated player in the oil palm value chain.
The Division grows oil palms in its estates, harvests and processes fresh fruit
bunches (FFB) in its own mills and refineries, and crude palm oil (CPO) obtained
is further refined into cooking oil and various other oils and fats products. As
a fully integrated player, Sime Darby Plantation controls quality of the final product
by implementing the industry’s best practices throughout the oil’s production
and manufacturing process.
Sime Darby Plantation's total landbank currently stands at approximately 1 million hectares in Malaysia, Indonesia, Liberia, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands of which about 604,000 hectares is planted with oil palm, 9,000 hectares with rubber, 6,000 hectares with sugar and 9,000 hectares of grazing pasture for cattle.
Upstream - Sime Darby Plantation’s upstream operations include the development of oil
palm plantations, cultivation of oil palm, management of estates, and milling of
fresh fruit bunches (FFB) for CPO and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO). Being an efficient
planter, the highest yielding estates produce 32.1MT of FFB per mature hectare.
As an experienced player in the plantation industry, Sime Darby Plantation employs
the industry’s best agricultural practices in its estates and is a pioneer
for sustainable practices such as the Zero Burning Replanting Technique. Over and
above our RSPO certification program, the Division has also planted 329,225 rare
and endangered trees in our estates since 2008, as part of our commitment to a sustainable
Downstream – Sime Darby Plantation’s downstream business
is present in 16 countries, encompassing the manufacture and distribution of oils
and fats products to biodiesels, oleochemicals, and nutraceuticals.
It is divided into two segments – food-based and non-food based - with refineries in the following countries:

Food & Beverages – Sime Darby Plantation also produces

Research & Development – Sime Darby Plantation is a leader
in research & development (R&D), and is the first company in the world to
fully sequence, assemble and annotate the oil palm genome using new technology.
This breakthrough in unlocking the building blocks of the plant will enable Sime
Darby Plantation to identify markers for valuable traits such as yield, disease
resistance and drought tolerance, and use these markers to breed a new generation
of oil palms.
The Division currently employs over 200 scientists and researchers who conduct
research on yield efficiency, agricultural best practices, quality management,
and product development.

sales of new machines, engines or used equipment for rental through its chain of
Cat Rental Stores.
Sime Darby is the world's third largest Caterpillar dealer operating in 10 countries
across Asia and Australasia, with more than 140 branches to service customers’
Sime Darby Industrial carries other brands of associated heavy equipment including
Bucyrus, Case New Holland, Kubota, Terberg, Jacobson, Perkins and Omega.
For the Malaysian market, Sime Darby Industrial Sdn Bhd offers a comprehensive list
of heavy equipment and services, ranging from the sales of new machines, engines
or used equipment to rental through its chain of Cat Rental Stores nationwide. It
is also involved in equipment manufacture under license and after sales support.
Equipment leasing is provided through Cat Finance.

is the automotive arm of Sime Darby Berhad and is involved in the assembly, importation, distribution and retail businesses.
With over 40 years of experience, Sime Darby Motors is a major industry player in 10 countries throughout the Asia Pacific region, namely: Malaysia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan.
Retail, Distribution and Importation.
Sime Darby Motors represents 30 brands in various countries in the Asia Pacific region. Brands represented range from super-luxury (such as Rolls-Royce, McLaren, Lamboghini) to luxury (BMW, MINI, Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover) and mass market brands (such as Hyundai, Ford, Mazda) as well as commercial vehicles (Hino and Mack).
Sime Darby Motors currently has strong leaderships in super-luxury and luxury brands, being among the top Rolls-Royce and BMW dealers globally and in the Asia Pacific region respectively.
Recent collaborations were formed with Porsche and Jaguar in Malaysia; McLaren in Hong Kong, China and Malaysia; Citroen in Hong Kong, Macau, Australia and New Zealand; BMW and MINI in Vietnam and Brisbane, Australia; and Kia in Taiwan.
Sime Darby Motors began operating the Inokom assembly plant in Kedah, Malaysia in 2004. Inokom assembles various Hyundai passenger and commercial vehicles as well as BMW, MINI and Mazda vehicles. Inokom currently occupies 52.5% of a 200- acre site with a current capacity of almost 30,000 units per annum.
Sime Darby Motors also assembles Kia in Taiwan since 2014.
Sime Darby Motors represents the Hertz and Thrifty vehicle rental and leasing franchise in Malaysia and Singapore, and the Corefleet commercial vehicle rental and leasing business in Australia.
It also represents the Hertz and Thrifty car rental business in Malaysia and Singapore via Sime Darby Rent-A-Car Sdn Bhd and Sime Darby Services Pte Limited respectively. With the dual branding of Thrifty and Hertz, Sime Darby Rent-A-Car Sdn Bhd is currently the biggest car rental service provider in Malaysia.
