Sime Darby Affordable Housing Programme

In December 2011, Sime Darby’s Property Division unveiled the ‘Sime Darby Affordable Housing Programme’, the first landed property development in line with the Government's ‘Projek Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia (PR1MA)’. Conceptualised to enable more Malaysians to own good quality houses at affordable prices, PR1MA’s main goal is to provide middle to low income families with the opportunity to own their own homes in urban and sub-urban residential areas.

Sime Darby Affordable Housing Programme

The plan under the ‘Sime Darby Affordable Housing Programme’ is to build a total of 21,120 affordable homes, of which will span across Sime Darby Property's township in Negeri Sembilan and Selangor. The first phase commenced with the development of Bandar Ainsdale, a 550-acre township in Negeri Sembilan. To date, a total of 423 houses will be constructed, of which 322 units will have landed strata titles while the remaining will comprise low-rise strata town houses or cluster houses. A selection of eight different types of low-rise units will be available and each type is designed with innovative and sustainable features to meet different lifestyle requirements.

Sime Darby Property has also selected Bandar Bukit Raja to be the first in Selangor to have affordable homes. This is Sime Darby Property’s first major township development in North Klang. Phase 1 of the Sime Darby Property Affordable Homes in Bandar Bukit Raja is made up of 321 units of double-storey terrace homes. The built-up area of these 3-bedroom, 1 utility room & 3-bathroom homes are between 1,310 square feet (sq. ft) and 1,380 sq. ft and will be priced below RM400, 000, which is lower than the normal market price. Sime Darby Property plans to build a total of 2,090 units of affordable homes in this township by 2016. 

Other affordable housing projects in the pipeline will be in Elmina East, Elmina West, Kota Elmina and Lagong.
