Sime Darby Engineering Sets 25 Million Man Hours Safety Record

KUALA LUMPUR, 28 February 2008 – Sime Darby Engineering Sdn Bhd (SDE) set a safety record of 25 million man hours without lost time incidents on January 8, 2008. This outstanding safety achievement is testimony to SDE’s uncompromising commitment to stringent Health, Safety and Environment standards and practices.

Commenting on the safety record, Sime Darby Berhad Chairman – Supervisory Committee, Energy & Utilities Division, Tan Sri Datuk Dr Ahmad Tajuddin bin Ali said the company not only ensures the health, welfare & safety of the workers and property, but also takes responsibility for the protection & preservation of the environment.

SDE’s commitment to best safety practices has been acknowledged by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI), which has awarded it the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 accreditations.
