SDCC Honours Secretaries With Dazzling Adibah, Stylish Fashion And Its Signature Buffet Spread On 22 April 2008

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 March 2008 – In conjunction with the International Secretaries' Week celebration this April, Sime Darby Convention Centre (SDCC) is hosting its Secretaries Luncheon. Scheduled at noon on 22 April 2008, the team at SDCC has put together an entertaining luncheon themed “Happy Secretary”.
In line with this theme, the event manager, Glamour Entertainment International promises an exceptionally entertaining show featuring a comedic emcee, Helmy & the Gimmicks, paired up with the star of the event, Adibah Noor who is without a doubt, a witty and charming performer.
A man of many talents, Helmy was one of the finalists in the first Raja Lawak Astro programme. Inspired by his favourite comedian, Mr Bean, for his versatility and spontaneity, Helmy’s on-stage persona is one that is always bursting with his own inimitable style and raw energy. He has performed numerous solo stand-up shows since his career began in the 1980s.
Adibah Noor herself is no stranger to the entertainment industry, having been part of it for close to 15 years now. The multi-talented entertainer wears many hats – singer, actress, emcee, voiceover and ad talent. However, she is most passionate when she is singing and performing on stage. It is no surprise then that she won the grand prize in Suara 90an Nescafe in 1994 and her debut album Terlalu Istimewa won the Best Vocal, Best Ballad and Best Overall Title categories of Anugerah Juara Lagu in 2006.
For the SDCC Secretaries Luncheon, Adibah Noor has promised a dazzling performance complete with a live band, backup vocalists and dancers. Her jazzy and classy repertoire will include Bila Rindu, Cahaya, Hujan and of course, her hit song Terlalu Istimewa. She will also be singing popular English songs such as Lady is a Tramp, Let’s Face the Music and Dance, Recipe of Love and One Night Only.
Another main attraction of the luncheon is a Fashion Show sponsored by Catwalk Productions. The show will be showcasing the Spring-Summer collection from one of UK's leading high street stores, Principles. Making sense of fashion by translating trends, Principles provides stylish fashion solutions for 'grown up' women. Their designs are designed to flatter and provide a complete wardrobe solution.
SDCC will also be launching their new concept menu, aptly named “SDCC’s Signature Buffet” which features popular dishes from SDCC’s banquet menus as well as favourites from its two fine restaurants, China Treasures and Halia. Among the mouthwatering dishes to look forward to are Halia’s well-loved Churrasco BBQ, Kway Teow Goreng Juasseh, Ketam Bunga Masak Sambal Chili Merah and Tauhu Goreng Salut Telur; Chef Rossham’s award-winning Oriental BBQ Lamb; Chef David Pam’s Smoked Duck with Tea Leaf; and China Treasures’ Black Pepper Beef Cube, Deep Fried Tiger Prawns with Oats, Deep Fried Honey Chicken with Sesame Seed and Homemade Lai Mein in Szechuan Soup with Peanut Sauce. The dessert spread is equally lavish and tempting as there will be an extensive selection of delectable cakes and luscious puddings to choose from such as Steamed Layer Cake with Salted Egg Yolk, Banana & Peach Crumble, Crème Caramel, Tiramisu, Chocolate Green Tea Cake, Bubur Kacang Hijau and Sago and Bread and Butter Pudding with Vanilla Sauce.
