Sime Darby Appoints New Group Chief Operating Officer And Group Chief Financial Officer

24 June 2008 – Sime Darby Bhd announced two new appointments to its senior management team with effect from today.

Dato’ Abd Wahab Maskan, has been appointed Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) of Sime Darby Bhd and Madam Tong Poh Keow has been appointed Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO).

Dato’ Abd Wahab will be primarily responsible for all operational matters of the Group, ensuring Key Performance Indicators and merger synergies are achieved. The following departments, namely Group Shared Services, Group Procurement, Group Risk Management and Group IT will come under the responsibility of the GCOO.

Managing Directors of the respective divisions will report to the GCOO on operational matters and will continue to report to the President & Group Chief Executive on strategic, business development and HR matters.

Dato’ Abd Wahab was Sime Darby’s Senior Executive Vice President, Property Division a position he has held since the merger of Golden Hope Plantations Bhd, Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd and Sime Darby in 2007. Prior to that Dato’ Abd Wahab was the Group Chief Executive of Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd, before which he was the Group Chief Executive of Golden Hope Plantations Bhd.

Madam Tong was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Sime Darby’s Plantation & Agri-Business Division following the merger of the three companies. Prior to that Madam Tong was the Head, Group Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer of Kumpulan Guthrie Bhd.

Both Dato’ Abd Wahab and Madam Tong will report directly to Sime Darby’s President & Group Chief Executive, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zubir Murshid.
