The safety of our workplace and operations are not only dependent on the actions of our employees, but also our contractors. It is important for us to ensure that our contractors subscribe to the same values that we do, especially so in regards to safety. As part of its efforts to improve safety awareness and instil a stronger safety commitment amongst contractors, Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd has introduced the Contractor Green Card Initiative.
Before contractors can begin work at the Inokom premise, they need to be familiarized with the risks associated with their working environment as well as the activity they will be undertaking. Contractor’s need to undergo a Contractor Safety Awareness briefing, which outlines the law and regulation and “Do's & Don’ts” as required by Inokom. Under the Green Card initiative, workers who have completed the briefing will be awarded with a Green Card that is valid for 1-year. Only workers that have been issued with a Green Card can enter the work premises and carry our work as per usual.
Following the implentation of the Green Card system, day-to-day observations shows that safety awareness among contractors are improving.
