‘Switch!’ represents the overall concept of Sime Darby’s commitment to energy
efficiency, which involves the implementation of energy efficient policies,
practice of energy efficiency, and promotion of energy efficiency across the
Group.

- What is the Sime Darby Township Energy Efficiency Programme?
The Township Energy Efficiency Programme (TEEP) is the first activity under
the ‘Switch!’ initiative to specifically promote energy efficiency among households
in Sime Darby townships.

- What are the townships that are involved in this programme?
The Sime Darby townships involved in the TEEP are Subang Jaya, UEP Subang
Jaya/USJ Heights, Bandar Bukit Raja, Ara Damansara, Denai Alam, Bukit Jelutong
and Putra Heights. Sime Darby is offering 100,000 energy-saving (ES) bulbs
for old incandescent (ordinary) bulbs to these households.

- I am a resident at Sime Darby townships described above. How can I participate
in this programme?
To take part, households must register at www.simedarby.com/switch. Registration is open until all the 100,000 bulbs run out.
Each registered participants can purchase a box of eight (8) ES light bulbs
for RM50.

- Where can I collect / do I purchase the ES light bulbs from?
Participants can choose the locations to collect/swap their bulbs when they
register. Collection points are located at Sime Darby sales galleries at Ara
Damansara, Bandar Bukit Raja, Wisma UEP Subang Jaya or Sime Darby Pavilion
in Bukit Jelutong.

- When can I collect the ES light bulbs from the participating sales offices?
You will have 2 weeks to swap their old bulbs with new ES bulbs at the location
of their choice after the official launch of the TEEP on 25th July 2009.

- Can I still purchase the ES light bulbs without registering first at
the Switch website?
Unfortunately, no. You need to register at the Switch website to participate
in this programme.

- I do not have internet access at home / work. How can I register at
the Switch website now?
After 1st July 2009, you can go to the participating sales offices to register
at the customer service counters provided. Alternatively, to stand a better
chance of not missing out to purchase the ES light bulbs, kindly proceed to
the nearest cybercafes / free WIFI hotspots to use the internet for registration.

- Can I still purchase the ES light bulbs when I don’t have incandescent
bulbs to dispose?
Yes you can still purchase the ES bulbs at the participating sales offices.

- Can I buy only 1 bulb instead of a pack of 8 bulbs?
No. The light bulbs are being sold at a package price of RM50 for 8 bulbs.
The bulbs are not sold individually.

- I own more than one property in the participating townships. How many
times do I need to register?
You can register only 1 time. However, should you need to buy more than 1
pack of bulbs, you will need to register more than 1 time using the TNB account
numbers that correspond to your respective homes.

- Can I buy more than 8 bulbs?
Yes, you can buy up to 5 boxes. Each box has 8 bulbs.

- Do the bulbs work as well as normal light bulbs?
Yes, they work the same as normal light bulb.

- What about the starting-up time until they are as bright as the old
ones?
Energy saver bulbs will take some time before it is completely 100% bright.
Generally, 1 – 2 seconds will provide 40% brightness.

- How long do the ES light bulbs last?
For the consumer market the bulb will generally last around 6,000 hours and
for commercial/professional it has an average life of 10,000 to 15,000 hours.

- Is it true that frequent switching on and off reduces the ES light bulbs
lifespan?
Yes that is true, frequent switching cycle will reduce the lifespan of the
ES light bulbs
