Sime Darby Berhad Reports Q2 FY2023 Net Profit of RM389 million

Sime Darby Berhad posted a net profit of RM389 million for the Group’s second quarter ended 31 December 2022 (Q2 FY2023), a 12.8 per cent improvement from the previous corresponding quarter in FY2022. The Group’s revenue for the quarter was 7.6 per cent higher at RM11.29 billion, compared with RM10.49 billion in Q2 FY2022.

Sime Darby Berhad reported a net profit of RM207 million for the Group’s first quarter ended 30 September 2022 (Q1 FY2023). This was mainly driven by the Industrial division, which rebounded in the quarter under review compared with the corresponding quarter in FY2022, with profit before interest and tax (PBIT) increasing by 35 per cent to RM216 million.

Sime Darby Berhad today announced that an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the Group, Sime Darby Overseas (HK) Limited (SDOHK), has entered into share sale agreements with SPG Bohaiwan Port Group Company Limited to divest its Weifang Port companies for RMB1.92 billion (approximately RM1.27 billion), marking its full exit from the non-core ports business.

Sime Darby Berhad Reports Net Profit of RM244 million for Q3

Sime Darby Berhad reported a net profit of RM244 million for the third quarter ended 31 March 2022 (Q3 FY2022) compared with RM300 million in the previous financial year’s corresponding quarter (Q3 FY2021), which benefitted from one-off gains totalling RM60 million. Excluding the one-off gains recognised in Q3 FY2021, the Group has largely sustained its performance for the quarter under review. 

Revenue for the quarter was down by 4.1 per cent at RM10.6 billion.

First Interim Dividend of 4 sen per share declared

Sime Darby Berhad reported a net profit of RM345 million for the second quarter ended 31 December 2021 (Q2 FY2022), compared with RM633 million in the previous financial year’s corresponding quarter, which benefitted from the one-off gain of RM272 million on the divestment of the Group’s stake in Tesco Malaysia. 

Revenue for the quarter was down by 6.3 per cent at RM10.5 billion.
